Uhoh, does this mean us?

Well, it’s me, for sure.
I remembered last night that my New Year’s resolution was to spend less time online. I haven’t been doing that at all, and it’s become my default activity, when nothing else is going on. It’s turned into three or four hours a day, easily. So I’m going to try to limit myself to an hour in the AM and an hour in the PM. We’ll see if I can do that.
And what a productive day I had!!
Another random question:
I have small feet – size 5.5. Wearing stilettos is absolutely out of the question for me. They pitch me forward so much that I really can barely walk in them. Is it easier for a person with larger feet to wear them? It seems to me it would be, since the ratio between heel height and foot length would be different. The angle of the instep would be the hypotenuse of that triangle, if you will, and that angle would be much less steep if you have a big foot.
Personally I don’t see how ANYONE can stand to wear them.
I have a larger foot, 8 1/2 + , and I find high heels intolerable, let alone stilettos.
8 1/2 is average. Large is 10+, and it definitely helps. But what helps the most is the construction of the shoe. Hells over 3" are rarely sturdy (unless there is a platform that brings the height down), and the comfort depends on the placement of the heel and how well the foot is encased by the shoe (to minimize side movement). Take a look at the shoes used by ballroom dancers - those are well-balanced, and they always have a strap or even more than one strap to keep the foot from slipping out.
Yes, one of those finding more ways to make women feel that they are the wrong size facts: the average female foot here is 8 1/2, and shoes are displayed in size 6.
Allegedly they look cuter when they’re smaller.
Yes, when I sold shoes, we always displayed the smallest sizes (cuter and took up less display space).
The smallest size will less likely be taken off the display shelf to be tried on. Minimizes the wear and tear on the display samples and also gives the SAs more opportunities to bring you other styles you might like.
Random Question: So how do these everyday people who post so often on instagram, mainly younger women, get so many photos of themselves that they aren’t taking as selfies? You know the ones - up on some cliff or some other stellar scenic location. Some kind of timer? Doesn’t seem like it given the angles, distance, photo quality. Really cooperative friends or boyfriends? Do they hire a photographer to follow them around? Inquiring minds want to know.
Question: Anyone participating in March for Science today (earth day)?
^ I think S1 may be in a march held where he lives. He’s a scientist who’s research depends on government funding. He’s also concerned about climate change.
My DS is too
I plan to take old files to the free shredding event today
We will be participating at a local satellite march, and the going to our local Earth Day festival.
Regarding the cuteness of small shoes: I have to admit that my son’s GF, who is petite and has really small feet, has the most adorable little shoes. I love to look at her little loafers and little black shoe boots when they are next to the back door with all of our clunkers.
We just recycled and are heading to the march and speakers.
@Consolation: I’m curious what size your son’s GF wears. Do you know?
I went to the local march.
My daughter is super petite. I held my breath until she finally hit size 5 and could actually find womens’ shoes.
