You will love NextDoor. We just had major drainage and landscaping done and hired the folks that were
referred by NextDoor, as well as our window cleaners coming up. So Far AMAZING referrals.
I also posted for Mah Jongg newbie players and now have 3 volunteer teachers and about 24 students that
they are teaching in two sessions. So in a few weeks I will have loads of folks to play with-- one neighbor has
arranged for the use of the community center on a weekly basis for us.
The thing about NextDoor is to play with your settings. I do not get anything other than a PM in my emails.
Also, posted free pavers from our yard and got them taken away.
I think NextDoor may be your best bet. When we were getting TPN bags in little coolers with freezer packs, none of the organizations I contacted wanted them. They all said something about not reusing medical supply items. (?!) We kept a few, gave some to visiting friends and relatives and the rest went into boxes of miscellaneous donations that dh dropped off at a charity shop.
We have a couple larger styrofoam coolers that food had been mailed in. They are really thick. I don’t think people realize how great some of those coolers are.
They are my absolute favorite coolers. Lightweight and REALLY keep the cold in for days.
Dumb random question: Ws thinking of trying almond milk for cereal, but while I like almonds, I don’t care for almond flavored things (dislike marzipan, amaretto, etc). What does the almond milk taste like? And what’s the point of getting sweetened almond milk if one is tryig to be careful about sugar intake? So would probably try unsweetened, but not sure I’ll care for it. Help- what does it taste like?
I switched to almond milk to get away from dairy. I get original unsweetened or vanilla unsweetened. It is thin, but doesn’t taste like almond extract/amaretto to me. It’s rather plain tasting, which for me is perfect on cereal where I mostly want wetness.
When I’m in a chia pudding making mode I use unsweetened cashew milk. I’ll use unsweetened almond milk if my almond allergic daughter isn’t around. I don’t use it for health purposes but due to the fact I’ve never in my life liked the taste of milk. What I like about it over regular milk is that you can have it in the cupboard and it has a long shelf life.
We have one. Got it on Prime Day last year. We don’t use it to anywhere near it’s capabilities. We use it to get news, weather, sports scores, play music, act as a timer, etc. It wasn’t complicated to set up at all. They add new “skills” all the time that you can add to its repertoire. DH had seen it at S & DIL’s house and liked it. He’s not a big gadget guy, but since he liked it, I decided to get it for him.
HELP! i’m providing the roasted pork for 40 people at a homeless shelter through a group i’m with tonight - in 2.5 hours. I have the pork in my crock pots, but it’s NOT cooking quick enough! I have a friend’s roaster oven here for transporting the meat … . . . will it cook quicker in roaster oven than the crock pots on high? i do NOT want tough nor uncooked meat!! HELP!
I’m not sure about a roaster oven but do you have a large pot so you can cook it on the stove? Your stove should get hotter than a crockpot’s high setting.
@romanigypsyeyes Why do you need a third party on a mortgage? I’m confused. Someone can continue to make payments on your behalf. Is your spouse on the mortgage?
