<p>Why do people tend to capitalize IVY. What's up with that?</p>

<p>Why do people abbreviate son as S. As if the "o" and "n" would require that much extra effort? Have Americans become that lazy?</p>

<p>Why is there no coffee in the CC cafe? This is a pretty crappy cafe.</p>

<p>Well IVY was originally IV (for four) if you say it out loud it sounds like Ivy, the plant, so it became the Ivy League. </p>

<p>On question 2, yes it would take too much effort and yes we are lazy.</p>

<p>i have always thought about this too. doesn't even take 1/2 a second to add an "o" and an "n"</p>

<p>Since the S is capitalized you have to hit the shift key too. So "son" is just one more key stroke than "S"</p>
