Random SAT Scores

I am always finding things to worry about but...will colleges view the range of my scores as a detriment?

Test 1 Test 2 Difference
CR: 690 CR: 770 CR: +80
Math: 700 Math: 780 Math: +80
Writing: 760 Writing: 640 Writing: -120

if they superscore (meaning taking the highest score on each section instead of as a whole), you'll be fine. if not, take the SAT again.

Most colleges still aren't taking the writing into account, and with a 770 CR and a 780 math, that leaves you with a 1550/1600 on the old scale, perfectly reasonable and a good score. Check with the colleges your thinking about applying to and see how they treat the writing score; some are just tossing it out completely.

Many merit scholarships don't give any consideration to the writing section because they never did it that way before, and they're trying to keep their process the same as it always has been. And a good CR score will kind of make up for a bad writing one. You'll be fine.
