Is it true that most internationals just tend to hang out with other internationals? I have a few friends who have siblings at Penn ( wharton and CAS) and they've told me that most of the latinos just mix with latinos, etc. Is this really widespread? Or is it some random coincidence that their friends just happened to be latinos?

go away megaman just go away

If you want to pierce a social group, it's not too hard, but you'll have to swallow a little pride. I have often ruminated on why there is a lot of self segregation at Penn, but it all comes down to: just hang out with interesting people, and don't be intimidated by being around lots of internationals.

I've talked to internationals, and they've often told me that they felt the Americans didn't want to hang out with them. Americans say the same thing. Someone just has to cross the line.

I'm white (well, kind of) and friends with many internationals, by the way :)

awesome, thanks for the help JC....collegehopeful: I will...as soon as I'm done with your..j/k, but I felt that was good place to throw that joke in

I'm friends with a bunch of internationals -- it's just a matter of breaking the barrier
