Rank Insignias at the Academy?

Just a quick question for those currently at the Academy… are the rank in signias on this website ( [U.S</a>. Air Force Academy Rank Insignia](U.S. Air Force Academy Rank Insignia) ) current and correct?

Thanks

Yep, looks good to me.

those ranks look like they're painted on.. lol.

all of the unranked cadets (the first one in each class year) are usually reserved for those that were punished pretty severely (eg alcohol hits).. and technically, we're cadet airmen (stupid knowledge bowls) and the C3C with a diamond is usually a flag or guidon bearer of some sort

False. The diamond doesn't signify anything.

it means they have a job. any job.

haha well we're all told different answers then.. anyone know it definitively? seems stupid they'd put a diamond on there for no reason...

USED to be that the unit colors bearer and guide-on were C/SSgt which had the diamond and all other 3 digs were C/Amn. That is no longer the case today. The diamond has no actual significance anymore.

They really need to update Contrails- it still says they're unit color bearers and guide-ons. Where's redhead? This is all her fault (she helped edit this year's edition).

That's largely because shoulder board issue doesn't even ask. They just hand you whatever 3 dig boards they have, or ask "do you want one with a diamond?" For some reason, they have a ton of C/SSgt with diamonds.

yes I was told the same, the diamond doesn't really mean anything anymore.
