Great Essay
Decent work
Amazing interview
-My interview ended the interview by saying: “i’ll give you a call early when you get accepted” so i think that would be good even though he really has not true say in the matter.

Also, i am applyin early decision…and i have a # of awards for my sports

PS: is there any one out there that has stats that are simliar to mine or at least some that aren’t freaking amazing?

Dude, you have the same thread like five threads down.

It'd take a hell of a lot to recover from a 1930...

Especially with a 600 verbal.

well you know what you all non-believers? I AM going to make it and i WILL be accepted

If you already know you "WILL" be accepted than why ask for chances?

thelui7--asking for chances on this site isn't the smartest move you can make. Even if you have steller SAT scores, GPA, etc. you will still get harsh comments. The reason is because we are all competing to go to the same school. People will not be really nice. My .2 cents. Also, we are kids just like you. We aren't admissions officers so we can't really evaluate your chances. Don't worry, I posted my chances too when I first joined but then realized that most people (and I do too, also) hate these threads.

So you're basically posting a chances thread.. why?

Wow, way to sound like a douche ^ infinity. You have a 1930 and you're asking about your chances. Your scores are at least 200 points lower than than the average. Nothing about you stands out. And if you're amazing in some obscure way, well, we can't see that from what you wrote. Why are you even calling people non-believers? Do you want anonymous people on a WEBSITE to believe in you or something? Dude, people could not care less about anonymous people on a WEBSITE. And then to say you will get in (in all caps too)? You're applying to a place like Wharton which, for everyone, is up in the air. Your lack of humbleness slash refusal to take criticism really makes me mad. But whatever, it's your life. I've had my share of ranting on CC today.

Why even make a chances thread if you're gonna be like that? I don't see you having great chances to be honest, and you'll let yourself down too much if you expect to get in. For everyone, prepare to get rejected so your Christmas break isn't horrifically sad... That's what I'm doing for myself.

Standardized test scores not great... well 1930 is low of course.
Sports don't mean much if you don't get recruited or don't participate with the school in some way - I asked the my Penn admission's officer because I start on a nationally ranked football team but did not plan to play college ball. And what's bad is that that's basically your only EC's.

And BTW, don't get too comfy with your interviewer. My friends and I all had apparently "amazing" experiences with the interviewer. Like we came out and felt good about it, how we really connected with them, only to hear that the other person's experience was the same.

Sorry to be harsh but reality must come down.

alright guys, i'm sry, i didn't mean to say i WILL and i AM by being obnoxious or loud about it...i just want to think confidently.

And i know a 1930 is really low and it is way below average but i feel like possibly my essays and possibly other thing such as speakin Taishanese at home and stuff may help me get in.

But i do apologize for being "cocky" and i prob shouldn't set myself up for a downfall...but thats what i'm doin i guess....thx for the criticism tho and i am takin it but i just said how i feel

Haha:) I've seen this over a million times on CC. A newbie comes on and posts a chances thread. Other posters tell him/her that he/she has a slim to none chance of getting in. The OP gets mad and starts attacking everybody who comments on his/her chances. Other posters call him "rude" or "cocky" and then stress their opinion of the OP having absolutely no chance of getting in. The OP then comes and apologizes for being "rude" or "cocky"(although in my opinion, he/she was neither the former nor he latter, he/she's just a victim of a little overconfidence).

Btw, I think everybody gets the "I'll give you a call when you get accepted"

And BTW, don't get too comfy with your interviewer. My friends and I all had apparently "amazing" experiences with the interviewer. Like we came out and felt good about it, how we really connected with them, only to hear that the other person's experience was the same.

what do you mean?

and lul, learn to take criticism... seriously, evn kids with 4.0s adn 2100s shouldnt get their hopes up... so u shouldnt either

whats taishanese - where does it come from?

and how does that make you any different from the thousands of kids who speak spanish/french/hindi/whatev at home instead of english?

I think he means Taiwanese, which, you're right, doesn't help. Haha good point Penn_dreamer. I usually don't respond to anyone's chances threads but after reading about a million and one of them, I got a little ticked off =P.

actually, being taiwanese/chinese hurts your chances because of such rough competition.. right?

and indian too :(

Lui, unless you have given a verbal comittment to Penn for football, I don't think I would get my hopes up. If I were you, I would just submit a 32 ACT score, which is solid and can be used as a proxy for all of your SAT/SAT II requirements (for Penn at least). You have way too many scores in the low 600s, despite a strong class rank. However, even if you did just use a 32 ACT score as your standardized test, keep in mind you're applying to Wharton, and your Asian. People seriously underestimate the intense competition at Wharton. Good luck nonetheless, Godspeed.

I immigrated to the US in 2002, first generation, non native english speaker...and I don't think I will get accepted to Wharton.

Don't underestimate the competition. Unless your parents donated a few million I wouldn't be that certain about anything.
