Rank me for HYP based on ECs *only*

There is absolutely nothing to worry about for me on the academic side of things. However, I'm kind of worried about my ECs.

Here's a list:
National Science Olympiad (10, 11, 12; No officers; Founding member; Regional medalist; State medalist)
Environmental Club (11, 12; Prepared position paper for Ohio legislature)
National Beta Club (9, 10, 11, 12; Treasurer, President)
Varsity Jazz Band (9, 10, 11, 12; Approx. 15 concerts/yr)
International Thespian Society (9, 10, 11, 12; Approx. 8 productions/yr; Sound and light design and operation, Honor Bar)
Mock Trial team (9, 10, 11, 12; No officers; Founding member, Outstanding Attorney, Student of the year)
In the Know team (9, 10, 11, 12; No officers)
American Mathematics Competitions (9, 10, 11, 12)
Math Club (9, 10, 11; No officers)
International Club (12)
Varsity Tennis team (9)
Member of the Dublin Arts Council (11, 12)

I know this is a ton to look at and the format is pretty lousy, but I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how strong my ECs would look to an admissions officer at HYP-caliber schools. If they aren't as good as they could be, could you give me an example of what would top them?

Thanks ahead of time.

Not bad. Not too outstanding either. Just average for Ivies, maybe a little bit below average.

They’re all over the place, they should be more focused

Do you have any academic awards or work experience?

It’s hard to interpret that answer, “more focused.” The time spent reflects the fact that I am dedicated to all of them, even if they cover a huge range of topics. I think that might help show that I’m not just doing a bunch of stuff to try to look impressive.

187 - Academic awards are mostly school-based. I was the AIME school winner, got an AMC12 certificate of distinction, National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, but the rest are departmental and student of the year awards.

Work experience, I am self-employed as a photographer but have an exhibit up at a cafe and have sold 15+ photographs for $300+

bump 10char

what was your amc score?

wow ur EC’s are so much better than mine. I’m kinda jealous. just kidding. You are a successful person

awards. that’s what you need. u didn’t list them…but it doesn’t matter how many activities you do, awards more important
FYI I did sci oly too…regional medals count for like nothing. State is alright. National is what looks more impressive.

Not good enough for HYP. Mediocre.

Any awards/volunteering/programs you missed?

If there was a reason you were to get rejected, it would be because there is a lack of focus/concentration in your ECs. At least that would be my opinion. Good luck

Hard to evaluate without more description of what they are, e.g., did “member Dublin arts council” involve simply filling out a form and writing a check, or did you actually do something? Same for the Beta club.

What I take away is that you really like competition. Smart, competitive kids are a dime a dozen in the Ivys. I don’t think focus is your problem, it’s demonstrating a passion for something beyond trying to beat the pants off everybody else.
