By the time I graduate, I will have taken (or be taking) the following APs... colleges should see the APs I take my senior year, says my counselor...

AP Human Geography
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB
AP World History
AP Physics C: Mechanics
AP Language
AP US History
AP US Government
AP Literature
AP Chemistry
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
(possibly AP Euro, if I self-study)

Plus, my class only has 100 students. Our counselors are going to report ranks to the nearest 20%... not based on cumulative GPA (i.e. 0-100) but on weighted GPA (0-4). Our GPAs are only weighted up to 4.0.

Currently, I'm 28/100, and I should be able to get that up into the top 20%... but that's based on my cumulative GPA, not my weighted. My weighted should be (by the end of junior year) 3.88.... Our class was initially 250, but everyone dropped out and so now we're under 100.

How badly (if badly at all) will colleges look at my rank if I'm not in the top 20%...?

If your school sends colleges rank, then it’s important to be up there, preferrably in the top 10% or as high as your particular school reveals. A lot of competitive schools simply don’t rank because they know what a disadvantage that puts their kids at. Check princetonreview.com; the stats don’t like–you need to be up there.
