Rank the focus programs in terms of difficulty of getting in.

I know Genome and Power of Ideas are the hardest, but howw do the others fare in this?

It really varies from year to year depending on how many people apply to which program. Usually, Genome is the hardest to get into as it is usually the most popular. If you don't rank Genome as your #1 program, the chance of you getting in is slim to none as already, a number of people who did rank it #1 get turned down. There is more "comfort" in getting into Power of Ideas if you had it ranked #1-- more solid chances, at least.

With everything else, the chance of you getting into your first choice is extremely great, so long as you correctly applied. The chance of you getting into your third-bottom choices are also very slim. You'll almost always get into your first two programs. And I've always been under the impression that if you only applied to three programs and they're all the 'really popular / most competitive' ones, you're going to get into one of them because they're not going to turn you away from the program.
