yea that's right

Depends on your financial aid situation. IF your family makes high in the 6 figures and has considerable assets all of them will equally turn down your request for FA.

The other end of the spectrum, If you are low income with little income and assets with the exception of Columbia and Cornell all will give you increased grants with no loans. (if you live in NYS, you would be eligible for HEOP at both Cornell and Columbia, which means you could go free).

Is it true that Princeton gives pretty nice fin aid?

i heard cornell gives u crapload of loans and little grant. i did teh efc calculator thing on cc and it said my efc is zero. and my fafsa efc is double digit. wat do u think i will get from cornell?

pretty nice FA is a relative term. Princeton gives no loans in their FA packages. Many parents of princeton students state that their FA calculator is pretty accurate. You could try plugging your numbers in to see what comes up

Penn's finaid sucks

Princeton FA is the absolute best.
I got over $41,000 in financial aid, and all but about $2,000 of that is in the form of grants. It's nice how they don't take home equity into account, so even if you live in a nice neighborhood, your parents don't have to sell your house for you to go to college.

I found HYP comparable, with H and P a little ahead. Dart was also good. Columbia was close to HYP. Brown was very low, but they have changed some policies lately.

Cornell's aid was better than Dartmouth's in our case.
