Rank the Ivies for overall education and social experience.

I'd say Harvard #1 and Yale #2, but that's just my opinion. Ask for all of the other Ivies I don't know.

Use the search function....

That's like asking you to rate your life compared to everyone in a 1-mile radius. Your personality, intelligence, history, family, etc. All in one value.

No, just kidding, but you get my point. You can't describe most of this stuff with numbers.

Are HYP really better than the others.

based on overall academics, i think most would agree that HYP are the best. However, the other ivies are all prestigeous, GREAT academically and attractive in their own ways. You can't go wrong with any ivy league school.

By the way, HYP aren't the best for certain students. For example, a student interested in business might prefer Penn since Wharton is hands down the best undergrad b-school in the country.

and a person who's interested in engineering should pick cornell?

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Penn
Columbia
Dartmouth
Brown
Cornell

Where do Stanford, MIT, Duke, Amherest, Williams, Swathmore and Pomona fit in the mix?

I don't get why Cornell is regarded as the "bottom Ivy" (the name itself sounds funny, it is an Ivy after all is it not). Cornell has a beautiful campus, and it has EVERYTHING: Hotel school, Engineering, ILR, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. I can understand Cornell being below HYP of course, as well as Penn and Columbia, and maybe Dartmouth, but if you asked me I'd say Brown was the bottom Ivy

I'd say

[ol]
[]Harvard
[]Princeton
[]Yale
[]Columbia
[]Cornell
[]Penn
[]Brown
[]Dartmouth (the last two way below the others !)
[/ol]

i would say

1.Princeton (my dream school)
2.Yale
3.Harvard
4.Upenn
5.Columbia
6.Brown
7.dartmouth
8.cornell

1.Harvard
2.Princeton
3.Yale
4.Penn (Wharton)
5.Columbia
6.Cornell
7.Brown
8.Dartmouth

harvard
yale
princeton
columbia
cornell
penn/brown
dartmouth

I completely agree with PlayerHater.

Princeton

Yale

Harvard

Penn

Cornell

Darthmouth

Brown

Columbia

Columbia last are you joking me?

Yale (that's cuz i like yale tho)

Harvard

Princeton

Columbia College

Penn CAS

Dartmouth

Brown

Cornell

When it comes to penn, it depends on if you're comparing College or Wharton. Wharton > Columbia, but Columbia College > Penn CAS. And honestly, brown and dartmouth are pretty interchangable. But for the most part

HYP and Columbia are the top Ivies.

Edit: And I'd argue that if Columbia didnt go down the toilet during the 1960's riots till about the 80's due to NYC being a pretty rotten place, it'd be HYC or HYPC instead of just HYP. Lots of stuff to support this -> largest endowment before 1960's, currently most nobel laureates aside from cambridge, 3rd most selective etc. etc. But as of now, HYP is definitely top 3.

hm... the balance seem to be tipped towards Harvard... not very suprising considering its the HARVARD board... :D

I wonder how many of you have actually visited all 8 different campuses? These rankings sound as if they were picked completely randomly or at best, based on heresy/name recognition.
