Rank the universities of the WORLD

Oxford, beijing university, university of india maybe, harvard, etc etc etc, in order, does anyone know??

rank them by “how prestigious and good they are”

In terms of overall research and prestige
1. Harvard
2. Stanford,MIT
3. Tie between Berkeley, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge

Hate it or love it, but in terms of general research output, thats about your top 3. And those who think im crazy for putting Berkeley up there, well, remember we're talking about research schools, not their undergrad, and Berkeley is second to none in terms of their research and doctorate departments. Btw, I dont go to UCB either. So dont go down that road = P

I'd rank Cambridge and Oxford both above MIT and Stanford. It's absurd that you would even think of putting Berkeley on par with the others. A little bit of hometown pride, perhaps?

I'd say:

Harvard

Oxford, Cambridge

Yale

MIT

Stanford

Princeton

I'm not certain, but yeah.

oh my here we go again

kill this thread... before it spreads like cancer

1.Oxford
2.Cambridge
3.Harvard
4.Yale

according to moi

this is going to turn into a flaming contest I see

fun fun! flaming contest! = P

wat about other prestigious schools besides UK and USA? there are none??

what about IIT?

University of South Carolina #1

Hofstra

Everything Else

Please, nobody cares. You likely will not visit/live in more then a dozen countries in your lifetime. Your Harvard degree won't serve as a substitute when you lose your passport, sorry.

Haha, that reminds me of the one my friend uses:
1. Berkeley
2 through (n-1). Everything else.
n. Stanford

(No prizes for guessing where he goes)

hahah funny...but I think I would switch those around...but that's just me =D

and let's stop ranking..I think it's all relative...if everybody got to attend all those schools..everybody would feel differently about ALL those schools...they're all great schools...just find the one that fits you...ranking them isn't helping anybody..it just gives ppl pride in their school or future school and/or causes unecessary bitterness on the CC board between fans of different schools.

neways, just find the one that fits you..where you think YOU will be happy...I've found mine ;-)...hope ya'll find yours and get to go there.

How about...

Harvard/Cambirdge/Oxford/Yale/IIT/Princeton/everything else. They're all good, people! No need to make some esoteric ranking!

BCgoUSC, haha i thought the USC meant "university of southern california" not "university of south carolina" at first. boy i do have west coast bias
