Have you tried U.S. News yet? Here's the link: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/t1natudoc_brief.php
If you do a search, I am sure you will come up with more information. What specifically are you looking for in a University? That might help me to better rank those schools. You could also look at The Princeton Review you can rank those schools yourself based on things such as average gpa, sat/act, and class rank of the students admitted. Here's Loyola: <a href="http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/schoolsays.asp?category=1&listing=1023611<ID=1&destID=suggested&intbucketid=%5B/url%5D">http://www.princetonreview.com/college/research/profiles/schoolsays.asp?category=1&listing=1023611<ID=1&destID=suggested&intbucketid=

^^ I like how you ranked them.

Chicago and Northwestern are, by far, the two most elite universities in Chicago. Their student bodies are much more geographically diverse and academically-minded than that of any other university in Chicago.

Employing tiers helps when ranking because they provide clarity. The difference in strength between Northwestern and Chicago is small compared to that between either one of them and the third most elite university.

In terms of sheer academic prowess:

Tier 1:
1. Chicago
2. Northwestern

Tier 2:
1. Loyola
2. DePaul
3. Illinois-Chicago

Tier 3:
1. Roosevelt
2. Chicago State

The Princeton Review said that DePaul students were some of the happiest students in the country. Chicago Magazine did a piece on that not too long ago. Historically, DePaul was ranked below most of the other schools on the list, including arch rival Loyola. However, over the past few years, DePaul has steadily risen in the rankings

Northwestern and Chicago might be close when forced to rank them, but one should bear in mind the contrasting academic focus of the two schools. It's comparing apples and oranges.

uchicago > northwestern

northwestern > uchicago

northwestern is like U of I but the environment is better. But that is because you pay a hefty sum for the difference.

U Chicago is quite uptight about everything and from people who have gone there most have come out with a negative experience.
