Rank These Public Schools For An OOS!

-University of Illinois UC
-Ohio State Columbus
-Maryland College Park
-Clemson
-Wisconsin Madison
-Texas Austin

hardest to easiest please (for an OOS)

thanks

bump, bump, bump

I'm pretty sure Austin is toughest for an OOS student.

u doing engineering by any chance cos most of them r really good for engineering.

business for sure

oh thats cool. I either wanna do engineering or buisiness

let's see... I live in Illinois, but went to UT-Austin; husband went to UT-Austin, did Ph.D. at UW-Madison, so I kind of have first hand experience with three of them.

The business school at UT is phenomenal, but as Bak Talk alluded, it's become next to impossible to get into UT as an OOS. It would definitely be a reach school for any OOS, despite their stats. There's nothing like Austin, and Madison - both are towns that no one wants to leave when they graduate, but I'm not too familiar with UW's business school. Have not also heard a lot about University of Illinois' business school. I think people who are really, really serious about business and are willing to pay OOS tuition, but want to stay in the midwest, usually prefer Purdue.

Illinois and Texas are the strongest for business, and of the two, Illinois is easier OOS.

The other schools are good, but don't have particularly well-known business programs. I'd scratch some of them off, and add Indiana instead - it has a better business school than the others. Miami Ohio and SMU are better too, I believe.

^^^^^
I'm not sure about that.

Isn't Illinois's enrollment 93% in-state?

But to answer your actual question:

-UT
-UW
-UMD
-UIUC
-Clemson
-OSU

Roughly.

Enrollment aside, UI willl typically accept good number of OOS students, as long as they have decent stats.

UT, on the other hand, is binded by the top 10% rule, so they really can't admit OOS students.

The 2008 USN&WR undergraduate business rankings had them as follows

Texas-7
Illinois-T12
Ohio State-T12
Wisconsin-T12

Other schools that have been mentioned
Indiana-11
Miami of Ohio–not ranked in top 40
