Rank these schools?

So here is my list of schools so far, but it is a bit long and was wondering if anyone could help me cut it down and or tell me more about some of these schools. Thanks.

Georgetown
Amherst
Rice
Vanderbilt
U. Chicago
Wash U in St Louis
Duke
UC: Berkeley
Wesleyan
Vassar
Tufts
Bowdoin
Colgate
U Rochester

These are all very good schools. Let us not bother ranking them.

One cannot tell what schools to cut from your list without personal information from you. Stats, interests, etc.

I agree with phuriku…there isn’t a bum in the lot.

What are you looking for in a college? Have you visited any of the schools on your list, and if so what were your reactions?

i share everybody else’s sentiment with regards putting these schools into some sort of pecking order. at the same time, i don’t want to leave you hanging. you’re going to find this oddly similar to usnews…

uchicago
duke
berkeley
amherst
georgetown
rice
bowdoin/wesleyan
vanderbilt/wustl
tufts
vassar/colgate
urochester

i obviously prefer research to LACs.

It depends. (Assuming your stats are competitive,) first decide what you want. Are you looking for a large, research based university? Knock off Amherst or Tufts. Are you looking for a smaller, intimate setting? Knock off some UCs. If you have a specific major you’re interested in, see if any of these colleges specialize in it.

All are very strong schools, but they’re also quite different.

uchicago/duke/berkeley
amherst
rice/wustl
bowdoin/wesleyan
vanderbilt/georgetown
vassar
tufts/urochester
colgate

tier one
amherst/berkeley/bowdoin/colgate/duke/georgetown/rice/tufts/uchicago/wesleyan/wustl
tier two
vanderbilt/vassar
tier three
urochester
