Rank Vs. GPA?

What do colleges look at more? My transcript is littered with B's and has 1 or 2 C's but the rest and most are A's... The thing though is my uw gpa is around 3.65 and weighted is around 4.26. I've taken 25 college courses in high school( most rigorous courseload at my school). 6 ap's junior year and 6 p's senior year and 13 colleges courses outside of school. As colleges can tell I've gotten numerous B's, but my rank is in the top 1 % in my school. My rank:

10-11 grades for stanford/princeton... 1/570
9-11 grade for rd decisions 5/570

How is this possible? it seems my gpa is horrible, but my rank is very high. Does it all depend on the high school? Do colleges look more at the rank because it is comparative to other kids in my grade or do they base admissions on gpa. I mean some schools are much more competitive and some ap classes are curved( only 10 5 of kids get A's in these classes at my school). What exactly should I tell admissions officers? that my school is hard? they may look at my transcipt and wonder something is wrong! Can i still get into the top 25 schools with a low gpa but high rank?

Most all colleges focus on the rigor of your course load and look at your rank. GPA isn't ignored, but rank is more meaningful to them cuz of grade inflation/deflation. Chances are pretty good they'll also have an idea of the quality of your high school program. I think you're sitting good, but recognize who you're going up against and do what you can to maximize As going forward.

that just made my day...
