Ranking Extracurriculars

Does anyone have advice on how to place your extracurriculars in order of importance? I have twelve on my list, which is the maximum number, but four of them are instrumental music-related. I definitely think music in general should be at the top, but then that makes everything else look like a lower priority than it is, since it's all getting pushed down four places...

How seriously do you think colleges consider the order in which these things are listed, anyway?

Okay, maybe I’m the only person for whom this is an issue, haha. Any thoughts?

I don’t think it really matters, they see all your EC’s anyway.

Haha I’m having the same issue too!!! Well I only chose my top 8 or 9 ones but I can’t put them in a certain order. They’re all important to me yet it seems that I don’t care about the ones at the bottom :p

My plan is to attach a resume and since I actually have more than 8 ECs hopefully they’ll see those must be important if I chose to put those out of all of them.

or you could make it clear that its listed alphabetically

I listed first by the most importance, which for me is debate. Then I did by career orientation which is all the medical activities I have done. Last was the items I spend the least amount of time on and finally the stuff I no longer involved in (messed up my knees playing soccer jr. year so I no longer play).

I listed it so that the one I loved the most was the first, but I kind of kept how many years I’ve been participating in mind as well.

Well obviously if you have 12 EC’s there’s going to be ones you put above others. Or else it looks like you half-assed all of them or you are not putting your major ones.
