Just out of curiosity, how much does each component of application weigh in to the decision? I know it varies from college to college, but is it generally like:
- Transcript/Grades
- Test scores
- EC’s
- Essay
- Rec Letters
- Everything else (legacy and stuff)
?
Sorry if this is kinda stupid but I’m curious as to what admissions offices generally tend to look at the most and which are the most important factors. Thanks
From what I have seen I believe you have it right except for SAT/ACT is higher than grades. I believe they are higher or the same… If someone else could confirm that would be great
Varies. Dartmouth loves recommendations, Tufts does not care as long as they are fine. They love you loving them and writing that in an essay
Look at the Common Data Set for your schools, section C7. In general I agree with your prioritization but there are outliers like UTexas for which class rank is #1.
