"Do you realize that the state of Israel is our home?"

I realize that displaced Jews needed a place to go after the holocaust. I also realize that millions of Palestinians live in the region that was magically gifted to the Jews. I see a conflict there -- you, apparently, see only one side to it.

You know what, the Palestinian leadership during the Second World War, especially the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, conspired with the Führer to expand Nazi control in the Middle East. They and their Arab allies also didn't comply with the UN agreement which would have granted equal territory to Palestinians and Jewish settlers in the region, and thus started the War of '48. I have little sympathy for the Palestinians in this regard. They took the wrong side, they lost, and they paid for it. Too darn bad.

Oh, and here is my source:

Again, no sympathy whatsoever for the N.S.D.A.P and their allies.

Lets not argue about the state of Israel, this is NOT a political discussion forum. Reread my previous post and you will realize that I was not trying to make a political point.

I'm anti-Zionist and I'm not even slightly anti-Semitic. I don't believe in a "right" to land. But if such rights exist, give me my damned forty acres and maybe a mule or two -- some guy promised my people that, and he wasn't an omnipotent entity that couldn't be proven real or fake.

As for those that would try to 'take back' Israel, my response is simple: "Move your feet, lose your seat."

I agree with you Alchemy. The so-called Palestinians called upon their Arab allies to fight a war for them, they lost, and both Palestinians and Arab forces withdrew. Hence "move your feet, lose your seat."

Finally, I agree this thread should revert back to the original topic, but I despise when people try to disseminate their falsehoods in the public square and accuse others of being "ignorant" or "one-sided".

Is that jab aimed at me, tokyorevelation9?

Absolutely not.

What a pathetic and sad argument. let's say a country invades another country and displaces most of its people. Would you just nod and say that's ok? Should there be no international laws, no respect for UN resolutions?

The new edition of Choosing The Right College 2008-2009 is now available. It's indispensable for anyone considering the topic of this thread. The idea is to spend four years enjoying a liberal arts education. This book examines America's top schools and identifies those schools where such an endeavor is a joy.About ten pages of precise analysis describe each school(~130 schools are included in the 1000+ page tome). As expected,Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia earns a strong encomium.

Very nice letter to the editor in this morning's Wall Street Journal (9/11/2007) by Professor Thornton of Hampden-Sydney College. She joined a discussion about the importance of a core liberal arts curriculum.HSC's mission is to "produce good men and good citizens".
Maybe it was just coincidence, but the editorial page presented "Dartmouth Diminished",a succinct summation of the frauds running that school's board of trustees.

Why don't you read up on your history superwizard before attacking my argument.

Tigers Rule I absolutely agree with you. ISI's Choosing the Right College is a great college guide. Very detailed, and gives great insight into the the educational priorities and ideologies of the colleges it covers.

If you want to check it out, just go online to the ISI book's page: http://www.isi.org/books/bookdetail.aspx?id=29fddb24-7b3a-42f7-9a87-19188b445c98

I guess ignorance is bliss my pointy-hatted friend superwizard. Or you could try reading Alan Dershowitz's "The Case for Israel". I dare you.

Well if I'm going to read that it's only fair that you read Beyond Chutzpah by Finkelstein.

But enough of this. This is the last reply I'm going to make in this thread. I apologise to the OP for deviating from his original question.
