[UNL sets higher academic goals for Big Ten future](<a href=“Imperial Republican |”>Imperial Republican |)

Go Huskers!! lol

Big 12 (What is left of it)?

by “sports conferences” I think we should limit that to D1 FBS football schools :)

I’m glad the Ivy League is still going strong as an athletic conference though!

Big East, does not work! Not all of them have football programs either.

That is a big drop for the Pac 10.

The Big East doesn’t really work given it’s odd make-up. Also, it may lose its BCS AQ bid in the next few years in football.

Big East Football Conferences

Conn #58
Pitt #58
Syracuse #62
Rutgers #68
Cincy #143
Louisville #164
WVU #164
USF #181

112.25 (There’s a clear divide)

^ Big East probably won’t lost it’s BCS AQ. If, and when, the Big 12 disbands, schools like KU, KSU will probably go to the Big East.

They’ll just have to kick teams like Providence and Nova out.

No founding members will be asked to leave the Big East.

Likely circumstances:
SEC raids the ACC.
ACC then raids the Big East.
Big East then becomes a basketball only conference.

I’ve seen an online prediction that the Big East raids the ACC and Wake Forest joins the Big East as a hoops-only team, downgrading its football to the FCS level. As a Wake alum it’s unfortunate to have to say, but that would make some sense.

[Texas drove everyone away, now begging for ACC acceptance - NCAA Football - Sporting News](http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/story/2011-09-14/texas-drove-everyone-away-now-begging-for-acc-acceptance)

The latest has Texas possibly heading over to the ACC instead of B1G or PAC-12. It’s a huge mess and we shall find out the truth in the next week or two imho. For whatever is worth, Gordon Gee is over at aTm as we speak!..

I had kind of thought maybe UCONN & Syracuse would leave Big East & go else where, like when BC, Virginia Tech & Miami left Big East & went to ACC…

Fun to read everybody’s opinions! H (BC alum) does not care for the ACC at all, so did not care for BC’s exit from the Big East, says those ACC schools mean nothing to him at all… Attended BC-Northwestern game ($9.00 Groupon deal) very boring game! Yawn!
