Ranking the Big Ten Campuses

How would you rank the Big Ten schools, with nicest campus 1, and least good/worst campus 11? comments are good too.

Big Ten Schools:
-Indiana University
-Michigan State University
-Northwestern University
-Ohio State University
-Pennsylvania State University
-Purdue University
-University of Illinois Champaign
-University of Iowa
-University of Michigan Ann Arbor
-University of Minnesota Twin Cities
-University of Wisconsin-Madison

i’ll help out with the first one lol

Northwestern

Indiana then the rest. Maybe Wisconsin next. MN is nothing special. Ohio State isn’t either.

OSU has a beautiful campus during the fall.

Hey how about Colgate? I heard it has a pretty nice campus.

^the title of the thread is “Ranking the BIG TEN campuses”

^^
I thought it meant BIG TEN as in the ‘top ten.’

“…with nicest campus 1…”

Eh?

Ranking of the Big Ten conference campuses:
-Michigan State University
-Indiana University
-University of Wisconsin Madison
-Pennslyvania State University
-Purdue University
-Northwestern University ( large boost by their own Lake Michigan beaches)
-University of Illinios Champaign
-Ohio State University
-University of Iowa
-University of Michigan Ann Arbor ( great collegetown, though technically Ann Arbor downtown is not the campus)
-University of Minnesota Twin Cities

This ranking was difficult since all of the Big Ten universities have good if not great campus.

“I thought it meant BIG TEN as in the ‘top ten.’”

lol i would understand had the OP not listed all the big ten institutions in the same post

This is SO subjective - must be why I can’t resist the urge to make MY list:):

Wisconsin
Indiana
Northwestern
Michigan
Michigan State
Iowa
Penn State
Ohio State
Minnesota
Illinois
Purdue

Really, all of them have their positive aspects and supporters to tell you why they’re better than their peers.

Isn’t Michigan spilt into seperate parts? Is it in the middle of a city like UW-Madison?

I will say Madison is a sweet town, but I never really bought into the state street vibe, nor did I like that fact that the college is right in the middle of the city.

You do when you want to go out and shop, eat, or have fun. You never need a car or even a bus if you live close-in to campus. Yet you have many acres that are park reserve (Picnic Point area) and miles of lake frontage that is usually very quiet and good for contemplating life. If you don’t like the energy of State Street you just don’t get a busy college oriented scene with people around all the time.

^^Give me a campus like Wisconsin anyday where I can have an urban and suburban/park like feel in the same general area.

“Isn’t Michigan spilt into seperate parts?”

Yes it is. However the central campus is pretty compact and very urban, while the north campus is more spread out and has a suburban feel to it. Even though they are about a mile apart, other Big Ten schools are just as spread out. They might have a contiguous campus, but they take in just as much area, if not more.
