Ranking the CMU schools on the Common App

I was in a hurry to submit my CMU supplement.. big mistake, but I got it through!

On the section that they ask you to rank the CMU colleges in order of preference, (I am only applying to one) so I put #1 next to HSS and put "Undecided" as a major.

I am applying undecided, but I did not even have the time to go through all the departments on the CMU HSS website. I'm becoming paranoid, will someone confirm that there is indeed an undecided major in the school...?

…No college in America has Undecided as a major

Uh, Undecided means you haven’t decided what you want to major in. While being undecided is fine, CMU is unusual in that it usually likes its applicants to already have a feel for what they want to do (which is why you have to apply to specific schools at CMU). You can still be accepted as undecided, but if you really do have an intended major then you really should have applied to what you know you want to do.

I applied to all of my schools as Undecided/Undeclared. My why CMU essay was on how I am interested in diverse subjects and how I want to use the programs at CMU to find a path that incorporates all my intersts and talents. Do they take that into account when seeing that my major is undecided?
