TOP-TIER
1. uc berkeley
2. ucla
3. ucsd

MID-TIER
4. uci
5. ucsb
6. uc davis

LOWER-TIER
7. ucsc
8. ucr

unranked due to how new it is: uc merced

actually ucm could be higher then you think in terms of academics, considering its a very hands on environment right now due to the current lack of students. considering the graduating class is about 200 I believe, the academics sound tremendous. but socially and since the prestige is basically nothing cause its so new... Its not where it needs to be.

Why isn't UCSF included in any of these rankings?

ucsf is a graduate college, though i wonder why there was a figure of 11 students (straight from high school?) who were accepted to ucsf two years ago.

there was? i didnt think it was possible

Can someone tell me what happened to UC SF?

@Spintle- UCSF is a graduate school for medical students.

UCSF is truly #1 in my heart.

NOTE this is an old thread someone has pulled up…

2009 Current rankings

UCB and a little lower UCLA

UCSD a little lower

UCD = UCSB

UCI a little lower again

UCSC

UCR

UCM

I question how people become supposed experts on all the UCs and where they rank.

Pretty obvious kingselite, [National Universities Rankings - Best Colleges - Education - US News and World Report](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/national-universities-rankings)

Basically most rankings are consistent with these.

UCB
UCLA
UCSD

here’s where it gets tricky, but this is what people tell me

@BestIndaWest

I know what rankings are but what I’m saying is, how can people say “no you’re wrong, they’re ranked this way” like they’ve actually been to all the universities and really know. I find it interesting.

For the fun of it, ranking by Nobel winners on faculty (from a quick look at their websites):

UCB: 8
UCSD: 7
UCSB: 5
UCLA: 5
UCI: 2
UCM: 2
UCD: 1 (as a member of a committee)
UCSC: 0
UCR: 0

UCB
UCLA

UCSB (way too many people discredit this school for it’s partying reputation, the research opportunities are fantastic as well as the Engineering/Business program)
UCD
UCI

UCR
UCM
