I see where the different GEs are posted online, but what are the other differences, like Hypox mentions an eating difference between Muir and Warren. What's that?

read and find out =D

Just that Muir's Sierra Summit "restaurant" is a hell of a lot better than CV (Warren's dining commons).

so you are saying that it's easier to graduate from some college than others right?

Which college should I attend if I am intrested in Molecular Biology/pre-med pre-requisites?

I'm thinking 1) Muir 2) Revelle 3) Warren 4) not sure from here on out.

[I want what will put in the best positioning for med. school]
Does anyone know which colllege has the highest acceptance rate to med school?

WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO WEIRD? Why would you put Revelle as #2???

No one college has a signigicantly greater rate of students being accepted to med school. Put Muir and Warren as your #1 and #2 and be done with it.

i put revelle as my #6 and that's where they put me

LOL!!!!!!!!!

take an advice from someone who is actually in Revelle (me) Muir, Warren, etc are just hating Revelle because they don't know what's actually going on because we know how to have fun while not getting caught. Trust me, Revelle is soo not socially dead. I always laugh at people when they say OMG Revelle.. eWwwww.. they so don't know what's going on plus Revelle is known for academic standings(esp. med) and prettiest girls. For food, we have POTs that open until midnight. Make your own choice. =)

Except Plaza/POTS taste like ****. Marshall's OVT is open 'til 1 am. OVT is only a 5 minute walk from Muir (just go across the Muir/Marshall parking lot and you're there). OVT and Cafe Ventana's is even better if you live in Marshall.

A lot of my good friends are in Revelle (not actually in Revelle but just housed in Revelle due to the lack of space in all the other colleges) and they're really fun, but... I would hate to be a real Revellian simply for the GEs. You don't have to be FORCED to take a million and one classes to be academic.

I like Muir because it gives you a CHOICE of whether you want to take a million and one classes or just a few, of whether you want to take this particular class or another class instead, etc. Oh, and that I'm a hippie at heart. :D

The only time I've been caught by RSOs was outside of Revelle--usually, I can walk past them while completely intoxicated and they don't give me much trouble.

There also seems to be a lot of RSOs near Blake and Argo on weekend nights, so I always avoid that area.

Sounds kinda scary like being in Nazi Germany or something.....everybody duck its the RSO!

ROFL I remember that, Kenny.

Anyways. It's quite easy to avoid RSO, but you DO need to be careful to the point of analness. Which does tend to ruin the fun, but hey, what gets the party working is done.

wow sucks for shacked...i put revelle as my number 6 as well. what is the point of ranking the colleges if they are gonna be completely random about it...

They aren't completely random... why would you assume that? They try to give everyone their first choice, but obviously some colleges are more popular than others. :/

And Plaza doesn't taste that bad (good fried food and pretty good salad), and POTS is pretty convenient since it's kind of like a convenience store. Not as good as Earl's Place in Warren, but still convenient. Revelle is not a good college though, in any way shape or form. I'm living there as a Muir student, and the location is only convenient if you have a lot of classes at York, and the dorms aren't very nice, and Revelle students have a lot of GE's. It's a pretty social place, but other than that.. definitely shouldn't be in anybody's top choices.

yeah, Revelle seems like a very social area, i'm in warren, and Revelle's social scene seems to be 10x better than Warren's, but it's somewhat cuz of how the dorms are, like Argo's dorm makes it very easy to get to know people..but in Warren you have suites so ur pretty much confined to your suite, and you really have to make an effort to know other people in different suites. and plus you have the science/engineering people so..yeah. haha

Do they give preference to instate acceptees? Becuase Im an international, and if I get in (fingers crossed) I have a funny feeling I'll get put into my 5th or 6th choice because I'm intel..?

if you party,

go sixth

building 703

I just started looking over the UC app and I noticed that I had to rank the UCSD colleges. I have a few friends that will be going to UCSD this fall and they gave me some advice. I am planning to major in International Economics and Management Science. I have made a rough list of the colleges with the advice of my friends and some research on the UCSD website. I have also looked over the GE requirements, but I'm still not sure which college would be best for me. Let me know what you think.
