Since I am an international student, I know nothing about their reputation in Hedge fund/Private Equity/IBank employers or in engineering field.

Could anyone rank that? For Hedge fund/Private Equity/IBank employers? Or for engineering job recruiters?

All of them have very strong regional business connections. U Mich probably has the strongest nationwide rep/connections. All are strong schools in general.

Are you talking about grad school or undergrad? It may come down to which region you would prefer to live in in the long run.

… plus many many more including all the major players in every engineering fields. There are over 1000 companies on this list.

If you want to stay in California, go to USC. THe alumni base at USC is arguably the most close-knit in the US. Every kid I know who went to USC had no troubles getting a good job out of college.

^ That’s hard to believe given that I just met a taxi driver and a policeman a couple of years ago who graduated from USC. USC didn’t register that well too at most surveys that cover about salary scale or employment opportunities.

I would go with USC Marshall or Vandy over Michigan Engineering if I was interested in Investment Banking alone but if you want to do Trading or Engineering, then Michigan is the clear choice here.

OP if you want to get into IB and finance i think you are thinking about the wrong schools. you arent going to be a powerhouse wall streeter out of undergrad let alone from schools not even Tier 1.

Josh is right in the sense that it will be very difficult to break into investment banking coming out of Michigan Engineering, Vandy or USC Marshall. Ross isn’t a factor in this discussion.

Although I would suspect Marshall does a good job of placing students into West Coast IB offices; its probably the third best program/school for finance after Stanford and UCB Haas.
