Does anyone have the rankings of biology programs at undergrad and/or grad schools? Or name some colleges that are well known for their biology programs.

UCSD is pretty well known and highly ranked for bio. You might want to narrow by private/public, geography, good research opportunities or don't care, etc. since there are many schools with good bio programs.

Tons of universities have top biology programs. And the field is now fragmented that it is more correct to address strength in the various subdisciplines: Micro, structural, molecular, cellular, immuno etc. etc.

There are many rankings that have been published over the years, I suggest you use the search function here. Keep in mind, though, that all the rankings I'm aware of rank the GRADUATE program. The relationship between a top ranked grad program and the quality of any undergrad program is a controversial one.

IMHO, if you're a prospective undergrad, focus on the overall fit of the school first, then look at the breadth of the undergrad offerings and such.

Finally, strength in biology tends to correlate with strength in science, which in turn correlates with overall academic reputation of a university (or college...). Why? because more federal $$$ are available for biology research than for everything else combined. More $ means more and better faculty = better reputation.
