Rankings

How likely is it for Boston College to move up in the us news ranking in the next couple of years? and if it does up, by how far? *i know its a weird question but im curious of your opinion

Those rankings are pretty pointless, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Rankings are so trivial these days.

I havent followed any kind of rankings (besides sports) but I do know they fluctuate greatly. USNEWS for example tweaks their formula every now and then. The single most important factor in this formula is a 'peer-rating', an educated opinion, opinions change. Endowment, part of the rank, fluctuates.

One prime example could be Penn, now 4 in the rankings, 11 a few years ago, 7 in recent years.

BTW, does anybody have a copy or want to post LAST years 1-50? or 1-40, just include BC. Im curious now.

A 3.5 rank spread for UPenn is not such a great fluctuation in my book.

I never said that penn had a 'great' fluctuatoin. I said that certian colleges fluctuate greatly, i could only think of penn at the moment. And 11 to 4 pretty big if you ask me, i mean, how much can change in a few years?
