Rap At Harvard

You guys crack me up.

Guitar, I think I'll put my vote toward someone who actually has a chance of winning. ;)

I'm a good ol' fashioned liberal (though, I must admit, I tend to have some libertarian leanings).

Yeah, corranged. Because, you know, your vote just might make a difference in that candidate winning :p

When you're from Massachusetts, the Democrat's gonna win no matter what you do. "Don't blame me, I'm from Massachusetts."

And you're right Guitar, but I don't want to be at either end of an assault rifle because I'm a pacifist. I'm not a conscientious objector and I'd be willing to serve if my country called upon me (though I'm actually military ineligible), but I would still see it as a moral conflict.

Dude, you could just say you don't want to go to the army for religious reasons and they wouldn't care :p Not serving is well worth it to live in a place as beautiful and amazing as Israel.

I would be morally opposed to religious opposition to joining the army. ;) I believe that when your country needs you the way Israel does, you should help when your number's called. They have conscription for practical national security. They're not sending troops off to fight some doomed ideological war in eastern Asia; in Israel, the stakes are real and the war is in your back yard.

I might go to Israel for a visit some time, though, especially if I learn to speak Hebrew fluently.

i was just in israel and i have huge objections to people opting out of the army for religious reasons. soldiers are dying to defend the country and what, just because you learn you dont have to? i visited the religious part of jerusalem and was shocked by some of the signs i saw, signs calling the government evil because they want the religious to do community service (instead of the army). community service is a disaster? i was really offended. i know my moral high ground is shaky since i don't live in israel, but still...
it's a great country, though. you should all visit.

Wait... they were objecting to doing community service instead of military service? I mean, that's what the conscientious objectors do here.

Heck, if I were eligible for US military service, I would consider going through medical school and enlisting as a field medic, or something along those lines. I consider that fully compatible with pacifism.

I'm a believer in the individual above the collective so I'm fundamentally opposed to any involuntary self-sacrifice. But, to each his own, hehe ;)

PorSK--Yes, that's a good idea, though, to help the nation (perhaps even involuntarily) without putting your life in direct danger.

Haha, that too. Even I'll admit I'm kind of glad I'm not eligible for service for selfish reasons. Oh, plus, while the Marines keep recruiting my friends, they only went after me twice. :p

I wish they kept after me. I would love to tell one of them I'm a dyke just to see the look on his/her face and to see what he/she would say. It would be priceless to watch. lol

They should allow it and make a movie about it. Maybe call it A Few Good Transmen.

i feel pretty strongly about this...the religious have such antipathy towards the non religious (like i was there in pants [i'm a girl] with my parents and this religious guy spit at us) and it bothers me...why cant we be friends why cant we be friends sings along

We can't be friends because you're a dirty heretic and because you're wearing pants.

fair enough

So you can probably just take off your pants and we'll be good. Or something along those lines.

If I'm at Harvard, we and Guitar need to best friends. Because I love you. haha

Awwww I love you too. Unfortunately, though, you're my type, so we're going to have to keep it platonic. :p

I don't think that would be much of a problem, since you are not my type at all. ;)

I think you missed the joke. ;)

...i'm still missing it

and now i feel stupid...
