Hey! So, I have two questions.
1- I'm thinking about joining the engineering rap in OHill. My question is, is this worth it or is it just social suicide? I love partying and don't want to be surrounded by people studying constantly. Is that what a rap like the engineering one is like? Also, I don't want to be segregated off from everyone else and only know engineers.
2- As mentioned above, I'm thinking about living in OHill and I need the scoop. I hear a lot about walking up and down the hill, but is it that bad? And are there parties at ohill? How is the OHill social life? I'm not looking for southwest type of social life, but are there things going on? Thanks!

My DS will be attending UMass and is considering the music RAP. Anyone familiar with that one. He will not be a music major – right now undecided major, but loves music and is considering auditioning for a minor in music once he gets the major sorted out. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I have a very similar situation as posted by OP. If anyone can provide clarification id be very grateful, thank you!

UMass is a university/college. That means you can find parties everywhere. Southwest has a party reputation, but it’s probably just because it has more people, and more people = more parties. There are parties in every residential area on campus, and probably in almost all of the off-campus communities that house local college students.

Orchard Hill is a great place to live though. It’s generally peaceful during the week, and it’s not crazy out of control on the weekend. You can get your work done during the week but still find a party on the weekend. Or you could just walk (or take the bus) to Southwest if you want something more.
