...Rare books...

The one thing that attracted me to Yale like a moth to the proverbial luminescent white light was the rare book library. Huge and beautiful...a historian's dream! I could spend years reading those...even If I had to learn ancient forgotten languages and scripts to do so. Tis a pity Yale accepts so few for undergraduate- maybe I can go there for grad. degree. (The more I write on these forums the more I think business isn't necessarily the only path for me...history really is my un-ending love. Wow.)

Anyways- whoever is going to Yale look for the art! Some of the most beautiful pieces out there. (My great-grandfather went there as a pauper in the 1900s...he worked himself to the knuckles to pay for it- during the Great Depression he even paid an older maid to pose with back on chair due to lack of models) I love knowledge- knowledge is power!

That's great that you love Yale's Beinecke library, I don't know many that love at it and can't awe at the ingenious design of the building. If I'm not mistaken acceptance to the graduate school is equal as difficult if not more difficult than acceptance to Yale College.

Beinecke is one of my favorite haunts. :) It's a nice place to curl up in with a book -- brought from home, of course. :) Glad to see someone else appreciates it.

Rare book libraries are the most amazing things in the world. I've been meaning sometime to travel up to New Haven to do some research at Beinecke, but I don't have much time. Special collections are the 'ish.
