Applying to Trinity. What do yall think of my stats? Good chance or a maybe. I can post my essay if you'd like. I am really hoping on Robertson Scholarship. Thanks for the help. Application already submitted

Your chance for admission is pretty decent but not outstanding.
as for robertson scholarship... you really don't have much of a chance. do you even know much about it? this is how they are selected:

"Robertson Scholars are chosen on the basis of their demonstrated commitment to leadership, community service and behavior that is grounded in strong ethical principles."

In other words, Robertson scholars usually have a lot of community service and leadership, and you don't have a whole lot of either.

I actually do have a great deal of leadership. My essays were excellent and my recommendation was 4 pages long from my prinicipal and glowing.
I am rather weak on community service.

I believe that the average score for a robertson scholar was 1430. My guidance counselor went to a session and my scores are higher than that. I have a decent amount of community service, but there are things that I value harder like my working 20 hours a week.

well that's fine, and you're a good candidate, but i happen to know a bunch of robertson scholars and community service was a big part of their application. and your SAT IIs were what i was calling low.
anyways, merit money at duke is very hard to come by so don't get your hopes up, but of course you have a chance.

I understand that community service is important to them, but I think that they will have some respect that I spent all of my time doing something, whether work or school. I also know several Robert. Scholars and they spent a lot of time on one thing, not necessarily comm. service.
My SAT II scores are semi low, but I am the only one in 4 years to take II's at my school, so I had zero preparation from school. I also live in SC which boosts my scores.

I think the rate in SC is like 40% which is substantially higher. My rec. for Robertson Scholars was very good though. I do agree that Community service is going to hurt. Retrospect is 20/20, what can I say...

I would say you have an okay chance of admission to Duke. It's pretty much a crapshoot. However, merit aid is ridiculously hard to come by here and I would worry most about just getting into Duke. For example, all of my test scores (1540/800/770/750, 4/450, all 5s on 8 APs) were higher than yours, plus I had done over 400 hours of community service working with immigrants and the homeless in addition to serving in multiple leadership positions, participating in national musical ensembles and receiving glowing recommendations, and I was not even in the running for any sort of scholarship. I know plenty of valedictorians/1600-scorers who werent considered either. The Robertson scholars I know like founded orphanages in Africa and other ridiculous endeavors in addition to their amazing stats, and I dont really see that in your summary. However, that said, I think you would be a strong candidate for Duke but I would not get your hopes up for Robertson or any other form of aid.

yeah I agree with incollege about the merit aid
my scores were also stronger than yours (1520/800/800/700, 7/400) and I got no consideration for merit aid.
but if your recommendation really is as strong as you say, you still do have a (slim) chance, but of course we've already discussed this. in my opinion, the robertson is more about personality and motivation than say, the AB Duke one, which you basically have to be a genius to get.
