My rec letters will be damn good, already have them lined up from both my counselor (who likes me, I talk to her quite a lot) the AP econ teacher and MUN advisor, and I’m not sure where my third will come from. I could use my AP Chem teacher, but he doesn’t write the best even though he likes me. If I apply econ, I’ll just use my APUS teacher.

My biggest weakness is my GPA. I have gotten two Cs. One in Calc AB, one in Honors Trig. Both (well, second semester AB now) I got up / should get up to a B. I had major back surgery as a freshman, a reasonable amount as sophomore year started, and another heart procedure late sophomore year. My GPA has been meh, but I should pull a 4.1. There has been a lot of family stress, and I had a couple panic attacks this year, which really hurt me. I anticipate I will be able to do well senior year. (parents are getting a divorce, which as sad as it is should help a lot)

once again, please give any insight that you have on my application/chances
Any responses (even if they prove to be incredibly vague) would be nice.

I’m just going to say that your GPA doesn’t reflect your excellent SAT score, and colleges will see that and think that you don’t try hard enough or are lazy.

It’s somewhat lame, but it’s true that i"ve had a lot of major surgery, have missed lots of school, so that might somewhat nullify that.

Ask your counselor to notify your colleges of these circumstances that affected your GPA. Worst case scenario they don’t accept it, but they likely will, and it never hurts to try, especially with such a big part of your life.

My counselor already said she would, so :)

Well thats good. If they take that into serious consideration and look at your SAT score and other activities then I would think you have a good shot at these places.

Yeah… Worse comes to worse (ideally this doesn’t happen) I could appeal based on my senior grades, which I am confident in.

UCB doesn’t look at freshman grades. Hope that helps…

I do know that ;)
