I know this is annoying but I really don’t know who else to ask. I’m getting contrasting information from everywhere and I’m really confused and tired.
I’m an Indian female applicant. Did my 9th and 10th from American high school with 4.16 GPA out of 4.5. I’m doing 11th from IB (final year grade 38). I had expected a 40 score for predicteds but messed up on my mid term exams for 12th, which is what our predicteds are based on, and got 34 achieved with a predicted 38 (out of 42).
My ACT is 34. My SAT math is 800 and SAT chemistry is 710 and SAT Physics will be around 750.
I’ve good extracurriculars (started an initiative for education of underpriviledged kids in India and registered as a foundation). My whole resume highlights the fact that I am a learner, take challenging courses and become the leader in the absence of one.
My major is engineering related- more specifically computer science. (My IB HLs were Math,Physics and Chem for which I got predicted 677 respectively)
Also, my LORs are good. I have one from my counsellor (who has written all about the different clubs I’ve started and had a officer position, as well as my two internships from architecture and CS firm). I’m getting my LORs from Physics teacher and Math teacher.
I would really appreciate any help. I wasn’t going to ask this but after the 38 predicted everyone has been telling me different things and I just want a clear answer. Everything else in my application is good but I’m worried the 38 will take me out of the equation before I even get a chance
I’m looking at colleges like Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Rice, UMichigan, UCLA, UCBerkeley, Northwestern, UTAustin, and Illinois Wesleyan University. Any other suggestions for cs course would be appreciated. Thank you so much.
