Should I submit? Try again? In practice I could jog a 7:14 but I pushed too hard in the beginning of the real thing.

Take it again: hold back a little for the first 800 meters. Then, bring it home. If you can “jog” a 7:14 - when the pressure is on, you should be closer to a 6:30. Best of luck.
