Rate my chances for University of Chicago, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, UT Austin.

OP might even have a shot at honors at UMN (CLA). Both my kids who are at UChicago were admitted to the honors program at CLA and both scored major scholarship money there as well. They have decent money for top-stat kids and if you are an NMF you can basically get full tuition, even if from OOS.

OP: Are you being recruited for debate ?

Do you plan to continue with debate ?

If so, Northwestern University & Dartmouth College are among the best at debate. Also, Northwestern University offers a legal studies major (one can triple major at NU as it is on the quarter system) that will get you involved in both actual practical & theoretical endeavors.

Nevertheless, due to your 6 "B"s and their effect on your GPA, your odds of admission should be better at UChicago ED than at Northwestern.

Vanderbilt ED should be worthwhile.

In at UT-Austin.

Likely at Cornell.

Thanks for the information. While I did not get recruited for debate, I plan to continue in debate at college.

Vanderbilt is the college in the top-20 that admits closest to pure merit.

Our high school sends anywhere from 8-15 students to Vanderbilt each year so the Naviance scattergram data is well populated, and there is a pretty clear demarcation in terms of GPA and SAT scores as to who gets in and who doesn’t. No other elite school admits the way they do.

@gobears1234, if your school has Naviance, see where you stats fit on the Vanderbilt scattergram.
