I have also applied to VT early decision (liberal arts program). I am in central VA and 20+ students got accepted last year from my school. The kids with 3.4’s were the only ones who did not get in. However, my boyfriend applied into engineering early and got in. his GPA was a 3.83 and he got a 1200 on his SAT. He didn’t have many clubs/extracurricular activities, but did participate in an engineering internship which I still believe helped him get in. I also know that VT wants to see that you have at least a 600 on the math portion of the SAT for engineering so you’re good there. Also, my boyfriend had taken AP Calc and AP physics his senior year. I know engineering is VERY competitive at Virginia Tech, my Dad graduated from engineering and still talks about how difficult it was. If you do get deferred i think you can most definitely get into the school RD. I am unsure of what your GPA would be on a 4 scale, but all of your courses are A/B’s. I honestly think you have a fair shot at engineering, easy in to the school itself. Best of luck, hope to see you around campus next fall! :)
