I was just trying to get a consensus on what you folks think of rate my professors?? Back in the day, we just went by word of mouth but with the advent of the great ol internet why not have an edge.

In speaking with students from various schools, they seem to love rate my professors, and say it is extremely accurate. Especially the very high and very low scores. Lets be honest, if a professor has a 1.5 or a 2.1 rating and there are 15 or 25 reviews, the students cannot all be crazy. Same goes for the 4.0 or 4.5 rating. The tricky part is the 3.0 rating or the 2.7 rating. You get a mixed bag there so you just have to go with your gut.

I realize that rate my professors should not be used as a bible!! but why take a professor, if you can avoid it, with a really crappy rating?? Why risk taking a hit to the gpa. Sometimes it is unavoidable since a professor may be the only one teaching that couse, but if you have other options, why not?

Also, you can take a summer course or two if that lously professor is the only one teaching a couse.

Thanks, just looking for some student feedback
