College/Senior English (College credit course)
Algebra 2 (or honors?)
AP U.S Government ( Should I take this class or go into honors)
Web Design ADV. Studies ( Mandatory)
Business and Marketing 1 (elective)
AP Psychology (elective)
Student Aide Cafeteria ( I get paid) or AP study Lab (Basically study hall for students taking 2 or more AP classes)
I think this is a pretty good schedule. For math, if you are good at it go ahead with the higher class! AP Gov isn’t too hard of a class. AP Psych is a reaaallly easy AP class, all you have to do is read and you will probably get a 5 on the AP exam. I would suggest for your final class the Student Aide Cafeteria because having work experience is more unique than having a study hall (as nice as that would be.) At the moment I think I would give you an 8, you have some tough classes but you aren’t overworking yourself. Good luck with senior year! We are both on the same boat!
I would probably rate it 5/10…
Honestly, your math level is pretty low for a senior. Most in my school would be taking AP Calc AB or AP stats.
TBH, taking AP study hall for only 2 AP classes might look bad on your transcript, especially since they’re not considered one of the hard AP courses.
Do you attend a lower-performing high school?
Will the wages help you/your family (do you need the money)?
What colleges are you targeting?
This is not a very rigorous schedule, so if you want something to increase your odds of admission at a selective college, or of scholarship at a directional…

====> Keep all of those
Business and Marketing 1 (elective) => replace with a foreign language
Student Aide Cafeteria ( I get paid) => ONLY keep if you’re lower income and you need the money and can’t find another job, otherwise, replace with a science (APES preferably)
I am currently taking AP spanish language. I decided to do busiess and marketing because that is what I want to gobin during college which is international business. I picked cafteria because it would be fun to do an easy class. My current GPA is 2.8 unaeighted and 3.1 weighted. The school I am targeting is monterrey imstitute of higher education which is an international school located in mexico. I feel like replacing one of my electives with another math class which is called math of persoal finance. Im very indecisive
Why consider a school in Mexico - how much will it cost? Will you be able to use your degree in the US (or do you plan to stay in Mexico after college)? If you plan on working in the US going to Mexico will mean you won’t have access to the networking, career center/career fairs, and internships that are available in the US and are an essential part of college.
However, if you do intend to go to that school, then yes add Math for Personal Finance, not a foreign language.
Overall, your schedule is not very rigorous and shouldn’t require an “easy” period. So, if you don’t need the money from cafeteria aide, choose a “real” class.
And this way, you can keep AP Psych AND take Math for personal finance (which should be a really easy class).
Yes the degree from that university gets you jobs in the U.S, mexico, and Europe. Yeah I probably will do math of personal finance even though im not the best at math honestly. My courses for my school are so limited. They only have 2 English classes to choose form which is regular or the college one. The science classes that I havent taken that are extra are AP physics and AP biology. I am already in physics honors and currently have an A but I dont enjoy physics and probably isnt important for the business field. The only AP elective is psychology and thats it with no other honors or AP electives. There is only 1 AP math class which is AP calc but I havent even taken precalc since I will do algebra 2. Also i would rather take calculus in college since it is really hard ans have the school failed first semester. I dont want to bring my 2,8 gpa down. I at least want to graduae with a 3.0 which will be possible. There is very limitation when it comes to AP and honor courses at my school. I dont know why since my school is a magnet school. My current schedule is rigorous.
U.S hsitory Honors
Physics Honors
AP Enlgish language
Geometry Honors
Web des (2 periods)
AP spanish.
I want to take harder classes and thats how far I can actually get to when it comes ot a hard schedule,
Can you take classes through dual enrollment (the district pays for you to take classes at the nearest community college) or through a virtual school (like FLorida Virtual school, which is free to all Floridians)?
Your 11th grade schedule is rigorous, but your 12th grade schedule isn’t, so amping things up a bit would help you.
No college “gets you jobs” anywhere. At the very least, Monterey doesn’t have anywhere near the alumni network a US university would have.
Have you run the NPC? (net price calculator)?
What other universities will you apply to?
If you indicate what state you’re in and what your budget is, the CC community could suggest some colleges within budget for a 2.8-3.0 student.
