Hey CC, I’m currently a freshman in high school and using my older brothers account to receive some insight on my planned sophomore courses. Is this manageable?
Planned sophomore courses:
-AP Biology (currently taking honors)
-Honors English 10
-Advanced Algreba/Trig (some crazy hard math class which combines algebra 2, trig, and precalculus)
-Spanish 2
-AP World History
-Engineering Design (gives me my CTE credit)
7
From what I’ve heard, AP Bio takes a lot of memorization. APWH is the kind of class where you need to know few details but connect the big picture.
Is Spanish non honors?
You have all the core classes (English, Math, Foreign Language, Social Science, Science) and one personally chosen elective, so you’re good.
However, unless you’re currently in Honors Algebra2 and getting an A, why do you want to take the crazy class that combines Trig/Precalc? Has your current teacher recommended you? If you get to Calc AB/BC senior year, you’re ahead of most students, and that’s that 2/3 Harvard admitted students have (with another significant segment who only had Precalculus).
There is no honors Spanish 2 and I may switch the engineering course with general chemistry (but no honors chemistry because my school only offers regular and AP).
