TOPIC: PETS SHOULD BE TREATED AS FAMILY MEMBERS

note: i exceeded the word limit. is there any penalty for exceeding word limit?

Thinking logically, having a pet is like adopting someone. Some parents adopt kids when they don't have an offspring of their own. They then treat those kids as if they were their own sons or daughters. Forgetting the fact that they are actually adopted, they treat them as a part of the family. In the same way, pets should also be treated like family members.

Would you ever wear branded jackets or watches and give the local and cheap ones to your younger sister? Or would you ever like a mother who cooks herself some chicken broasts but gives a plain bread and some potatoes to her own children? No. Ofcourse no. In every good family, everyone acts like a single unit. Each family member's pain is another member's pain too. Pets should be treated in the similar way. They should be fed properly with proper food. For instance, if it's a dog, it should be given the dog food bought from the stores instead of the left-over bones from the curry you had in your lunch. A comfortable sleeping basket or perhaps a hut should be arranged. You don't want to see your family member sleeping on the roof or in the car porch, right? Many religious books, for example Quran, have basic animal rights stated in them. By this you can judge the importance of caring an animal. Even one of the prophets in Islam, Muhammad (P.B.U.H), had a pet camel and he treated it like it was his mother. Giving milk on time, keeping it clean and he even used to spend time talking with it.

We all are dependent over each other. No one is independent except God. Everybody needs support of one or the other. Pets need care too. They can't just go to a shop for buying food themselves. They rely on their masters. It's pretty sad to observe that few kids own pets just for the sake of torturing them. I have seen a couple of videos on some social networking sites where the masters set their pets on fire and enjoy recording the video. These people reflect nothing but illiteracy. Pets are a living being and like every other homosapien, it has feelings. You might not notice their emotions but they actually cry, laugh and giggle. Just think of them as your brother and you would automatically learn how to treat them. (400 words)
