You've heard of HYP, HYPS, HYPSM, etc. or some other variation of the "elites". I tossed in Caltech in there to make it the CHYMPS (Caltech, Hahvahd, Yale, MIT, Princeton, Stanford).

I was curious as to how people view these places relative to one another. How would you rank them?

The last two strike me as remarkably elitist. Princeton's done a great job of going from "preppy" in the 80's to pretty cool nowadays. Well, wasn't alive then, but so I hear.

Yale (perfection)

Stanford (beautiful campus from what I hear)

Princeton (chill atmosphere, but wayyyy too close to where I live, which is BORING AS HELL.)

MIT (too math+science-y; rumors of hardcore science nerds)

Caltech (same as MIT but in California; rumors of ugly buildings)

Harvard (must... bring... down... rating!)
