I would say Foothill is worth it just because it’s definitively less wild. Also, I am biased because I ended up with one of the very nice, large suite-style places, i.e. with its own bathroom for 4 people. Also, myself and the roommates were louder than the suitemate we had, who was a furiously studious EECS major.

Edit: Batman is right, though, in saying Foothill food isn’t wonderful at all. But frankly, the best way is to get the minimum meal plan possible, try hard to finish it, and eat out (at technically cheaper places, yet still tastier places) the rest of the time.

They are modifying the Foothill DC into a Foothill Food Court. Next year, in Foothill it will be like non-stop Late Night except with menus varying slightly from day to day.

^ no it will actually make lines shorter, the lines are really long right now, so the way they organize Foothill DC will address these line problems

Are there going to be any LS student there? I want to apply there because I want a quiet and studious place, but I don’t want to be like an intruder if there’s like some secret agreement that everyone there is going to be engineer/science majors don’t get me wrong, I love engineers and all, but it would be nice to have ppl in my major for study groups! :)

lol oops I meant I want to apply to Foothill. I dunno about the units, from what I heard they are really loud everywhere…It’ll be too tempting for me to run off with them cuz I won’t be able to study anyways :(

hey fiesta come to foothill with me then! we can form our own circle there :p

^Foothill also has a library in building 8.
Stern has a library, but I have never seen it
Bowles has a library. The Bowles library is a great place to study (though except on Friday nights when people have StarCraft and DotA LAN parties in it)

I hate being a party-pooper, but I hate/d my floor in Unit 3 Priestley. Loud, obnoxious, cliquey. No, I don’t want to hear you scream across the halls at each other when you’re having a fight. No, the doors are not made for slamming. No, toilet paper does not belong on the bathroom floor. No, the tub in the first stall is not made for loud 2PM sex. No, the hall is not a youtube-viewing hangout spot at 4AM and I don’t care how hilarious that video is – stop screeching. It’s gotten to the point where I’m permanently staying at my boyfriend’s apartment.

But all that aside (since it really is luck of the draw, as someone mentioned earlier), location-wise, the best one is probably Unit 3. Sure the buildings are older, but it’s that much closer to the center of campus/Telegraph (I don’t care what you say, I think it has a grungy charm) and it makes all the difference when you have early classes and want to stay in bed a few minutes longer. If you get a northside dorm, make friends with people who have cars. I can’t think of anybody that currently lives in CKC. -shrug-

I do know people who are incredibly close and buddy-buddy with their floormates. Good luck.

Hey I live in unit 3 - Spens-Black and its kind of weird/entertaining how both Spens-Black and Priestly face each other. lol Especially when one is having a dance party in somebodies room and makes the other floor in the other building try to outdance/outparty.

Spens-Black actually sounds super fun. I know a lot of the people on the all-girls floor, and quite a few people on the third and fourth floors. Lucky!

Hey, did you hear about the couple going at it one night in Priestley with the curtains open?
