P.S. I’m taking both bio and chem because I couldn’t decide between them; physics is my favorite science so I wanted two years.
AP Research:
Students are assessed on the academic paper and presentation
and oral defense of research. The academic paper is
approximately 4,000–5,000 words, and the presentation and
defense take approximately 15-20 minutes.
It obviously depends on what your school offers but I’d say that’s as rigorous of a schedule I could imagine any college wanting! Strength of schedule won’t be your downfall, that’s for sure!
Thank you for describing what AP Research is, @NASA2014. What’s AP Seminar?
Your schedule honestly looks very rigorous and great. I don’t know what your school offers but I believe you took full advantage of the courses as much as you could. It’s tremendous to see that you have all three sciences and two years of Physics. Interested in engineering?
@TheDidactic AP seminar and research are apart of the Ap capstone program, and they’re basically classes where you choose what you want to research, create research papers, and give presentations on those papers. As for engineering, I’m thinking about it :b
It looks rigorous enough to be competitive for top schools. Without knowing the context of your school, it does appear you chose one of the most rigorous courseloads available and it should be reflected in your class rank (top 10% at least I’d imagine). I’d worry more about other components of your application at this point as your rigor is strong and it can’t really be changed at this point.
