Out of curiosity, I'd like to know the level of prestige for each of these universities I am applying to/have applied to.

UCLA

UC Davis

UC San Diego

UC Santa Barbara

UC Santa Cruz

UC Irvine

University of Southern California

Wake Forest University

New York University

Lehigh University

Santa Clara University

Villanova University

Please rank these in order of prestige level. Thanks!

NYU, UCLA, USC, Villanova, USC, UCSD, then the others

UCLA USC NYU Wake Forest UCI UCD Lehigh Villanova

For undergrad:
USC/UCLA/NYU/Wake Forest
Lehigh/Villanova/UCSD/UCD/UCSB
UCSC/UCI/Santa Clara

To some extent, prestige depends on region and what context (e.g. jobs in what industry, etc.). For certain jobs, as well as PhD programs, reputation in major matters more than overall prestige.

From a SoCal perspective:
-UCLA
-NYU
-USC (much as it pains me to admit this)
-UCSD
-UCD
-UCI
-UCSC

The other schools: unless the person is from the area, they probably haven’t heard of them.

Wake Forest and Lehigh are both larger -named schools and are more widely known than you think, but, it’s true, I don’t think they carry the same amount of prestige as some of the UC schools.
