Hello fellow CC members! I have seen the need for us to accurately gage the amount of work/difficulty of certain AP classes that we are considering for our schedules. Therefore I recommend that we post our past experiences in certain classes, so that others get a better understanding of it. A possible format could be...

[Amount of HW each night]
[Difficulty of class 1-easy, 10-very difficult]
[Difficulty of AP exam 1-easy, 10-very difficult]

*gauge.

Also, what’s the point of this if one can just attach the difficulty to their schedules? If we have this thread, we’d have to search the entire thread and then use that information and apply it to another thread.

AP Chemistry
My teacher didn’t give a lot of homework but I studied at least 4 hours for every test
Difficulty - 7
AP Exam - 9

AP Physics B
Little homework
Difficulty - 5
AP Exam - 7

AP World History
-Lots of reading/studying for tests…(Just budget 1 hour per day)
-Class: 6

Aren’t the difficulties for this a little subjective? For example, AP World History, IMO is far easier than AP Physics B, but the rankings don’t show that.

@Apollo11: They are indeed subjective. I would take AP Physics B over AP World History in a heartbeat.

AP Government
Traditional class. Maybe 1 hour or so of homework per week (our teacher was really easy on us homework wise, and although the tests were tough… I didn’t spend much time studying)
Class Difficulty: 1
Exam Difficulty: 4 (because of the scale)
Projected score: 5 (was expecting a 4 until my AP gov teacher worked out all the FR questions that were released)

AP Macroeconomics
One semester class. 1 hour of homework a week (same teacher)
Class Difficulty: 2

AP Macroeconomics
One semester class. 1 hour of homework (same teacher)
Class Difficulty: 2
Exam Difficulty: 3.5
Projected score: 5… possibly a 4

AP English Literature
Traditional class. 1.5 or 2 hours of homework per week

Exam Difficulty: 8.5
Projected score: 3… hopefully a 4…

AP Physics
Traditional class. 2 or 2.5 hours of homework per week.
Class Difficulty: 7 (not the best teacher; she taught calculus great, but physics isn’t her best)
Exam Difficulty: Didn’t take it because we didn’t finish the material, and there was no point in taking the exam… If I passed, I still wouldn’t get the credit for the physics classes I need to take in college
Projected score: N/A

AP English Langauge
Self study. I didn’t do much other than an essay here or there that an english teacher would grade.

Projected score: 4/5

Score on test: 4

AP Biology:
Self study. Spent 2 weeks on the material
Class Difficulty: 3
Exam Difficulty: 5
Score on test: 3 (I failed the first two free response questions…)

AP bio:
Class 4/10
Test 7/10
Score: 3(died on frq’s, but multiple choice was simple)
AP Chem
class:12/10 (my teacher was insane)
test 4/10(most likely because of how well prepared I was)
projected score 5

Oh well.
I just hope this doesn’t become like the chances threads, wherein people just post to increase anxiety, not to do any tangible benefit to the community.

AP US Gov
HW a night: 10 cause i procrastinate
Difficulty: 10 cause i suck
Difficulty of AP Exam: 10 cause i dont care about AP exams.

I thought most freshman don’t take AP US Gov

@Apollo11
I did and it was pretty easy
Difficulty of class I would probably give 8
Difficult of exam I would give 6

AP US history

HW. Read a couple pages a night and take notes. I BS through the notes and then read the chapter the night before the test (bad idea)

[Difficulty of AP exam 1-easy, 10-very difficult] 7

Class]: AP Chemistry
[Amount of HW each night]: Depends. Some nights reading half a chapter in the book, but my teacher was insane about our lab books! They took me hours on end to finish (and I rarely procrastinated on those)

Class]: AP Calc AB
[Amount of HW each night]: Less than an hour, usually just practice problems

AP Human Geography

Score: 4

Psychology
Homework: 1 Chapter / Week (not that I ever read it)
Class Difficulty: 2 (would have been a 1 if I actually participated)
Exam Difficulty: 1 (if possible, my ridiculously easy class over prepared me)

Literature & Composition
Homework: 30 min / night
Class Difficulty: 2
Exam Difficulty: 8 (we didn’t do a single ap-style essay all year, we learned poetry from an incompetent student teacher)

Macroeconomics
Homework: N/A, it was an independent study
Class Difficulty: N/A
Exam Difficulty: 7 (If I had an actual class, it’d probably be closer to a 4 or 5)
Score: TBD, I’m pretty sure it’ll be a 4 though.
