I honestly think ratemyprofessors is better than bruinwalk. I've been using it for years (before I transferred) where I can place my full confidence in the ratings, whereas with bruinwalk, I can barely find ratings on any professors and most of them are misleading. I know UC Berkeley, UCSD, and other UCs ratemyprofessors are bloated with ratings, so I just want to suggest more people to use this, because bruinwalk is rarely updated. If everyone can rate their professors after theyre done with the course, that would be helpful to future students interested in taking the courses. Just a note, but I really think we should have a better RMP page than the other UCs.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it was better, although you must take both with a grain of salt.

I have realized that Bruinwalk seems to be more condescending overall, but maybe thats just me.

Personally, I think the best thing about ratemyprofessor.com is the ability to search a professor’s ratings at other schools, not merely UCLA.

i wish there were ratings for TAs…

The TAs tend to be on the registrar’s page way after the first and second pass though so even if they were reviewed it wouldn’t be much help.

yeah, I rate all my professors on bruinwalk, and I used to rate on RMP too… argh, we need to all help eachother out. I could have avoided one shyte professor if there had been more available reviews…

There are 155 reviews on bruinwalk for the four professors I have this quarter. Ratemyprofessors has 0 reviews, with only 1 of the professors even listed. Many of the reviews on bruinwalk are quite detailed. Most I’ve seen on Ratemyprofessors are 2-5 sentences. The main problem with bruinwalk is multiple listings of the same professor.

It was also interesting to see that Todd Wittman had a rating at RMP of 3.6/5 and was listed incorrectly under Computer Science, while his bruinwalk rating is 9.16

i get your concerns. some professors have a lot of ratings, but adding a new professor on bruinwalk takes a while as it needs approval (i tried it before to find ratings on one professor), while rmp makes one instantly, and you can email the moderators to make a change if they are in the wrong department, what im saying is that rmp could be a much more efficient tool. it’s just my two cents, but i think rmp could be a better site, considering that bruinwalk is rarely updated with new professors that are a year or two years old, and if a professor has a bad rating on rmp, then speak up for them on there, i mean with more reviews, there will essentially be a rating that will reflect the professors performance
