I mean their real names are there and easily accessible, and whatever gets posted will stay there unless the RateMyTeachers website decides to remove it. What do you guys think?

I think it’s a cool website in order for students to prepare for their classes. All harsh comments are removed anyways. If a teacher gets bad reviews, it’s their job to teach better. I know a ton of teachers who get excellent reviews, and if they ever see them, they should feel good about them.

It’s is only good for constructive criticism. Saying bad things about a teacher’s teaching style is one thing, but personally attacking them is another, and the staff of the site does a pretty good job at weeding them out.

The teachers real names are accessible through other means besides the site itself, so why is that a problem?

I think ratemyteachers is great, but if you go to a school like mine, some of the reviews aren’t too legitimate.

Obviously it’s going to be biased, but it’s a great resource. And as stated above, their full names and where they teach is easily accessible online.

Since my school has self-scheduling for students, ratemyteachers is a godsend.

Most teachers’ names are posted on their school’s website anyway.

I think school administrators should actually start using it to keep track of teachers. We had a teacher for AP World History that was just so awful, and if you go on his page, it really does show it. Everyone comments on his apathy, unfair grading, and favoritism.

It’s usually pretty fair for every teacher.
