There’s this book called the College ******* that serves as a basic guidebook to a lot of colleges/universities in the US (one of them being UCSD of course), and I figured I’d share some of the info with you guys. You don’t have to agree with it, but I wouldn’t advise you to disregard some of the ratings they put either, 'cuz most of the quotes that are in this book come straight from the students–no BS.

There’s 12 categories they go into depth about, and they grade each category A, B, C, D or F. Think of it as a report card.

Academics: B+
Local Atmosphere: A-
Safety and Security: A-
Computers: B

Campus Dining: B
Off-Campus Dining: B+

UCSD facilities are actually really good...new buildings coming up all the time, etc. I'd give it an A-, actually. Computers, B+, dining should drop down to maybe a b-...

Karthikkito, since you're probably going to UCSD already, do have any word about the Muir dorms and their being rennovated over the summer? I'm excited that they may no longer be the 'jail cells' anymore.

No clue about the muir dorms being renovated. Maybe 'refreshed'...would be a better term. Blake hall (revelle) got new carpeting, paint, sofas, tables, desks, etc. Maybe something similar is in store, but I haven't heard anything.
