I haven't submitted applications yet, but I'm hoping I can get in to at least: UC Irvine, Santa Barbara, Davis, Santa Cruz, Riverside, and maybe even Merced. I'm wondering how good the school life, academic, social life, and just the general experience is for each of these schools.

I personally want to go to Irvine or Riverside since they are closer to where I live, but I heard Riverside has a terrible location. I know Irvine might be a bit boring, but it has a nice community and I feel like I would enjoy that location. I'm not sure about the other schools.

I’m from Irvine and personally, I found Davis (where I will be transferring to) even more boring when I visited last month to attend orientation–the downtown area was quiet and you didn’t see anyone around even at 7pm. Within the school, though, I learned at orientation that the school, academic, and social life were strong, but then again, the orientation leaders had strong pride for UCD.

UCI has a cross-enrollment thing going on with IVC (the local community college), so you can also choose to take some of your GE courses at IVC and some of your GE courses at UCI.
